This November, Susan Graham returns to the Lyric Opera of Chicago, performing the role of Mrs. De Rocher in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. Based on real-life events, this opera tells the story of convicted death row murderer Joseph De Rocher (Ryan McKinny), who convinces Sister Helen Prejean (Patricia Racette) to become his spiritual advisor. Leonard Foglia directs this compelling story of friendship, forgiveness, and human nature.
