In Concert with Renée Fleming and the San Francisco and Boston Symphonies

Susan website photoSusan Graham joins her long-time friend and collaborator Renée Fleming to headline two season-opening events this fall with major American orchestras.

On September 7, she stars in the San Francisco Symphony’s Opening Night Gala at Davies Symphony Hall, performing a selection of American and Italian duets alongside Renée under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. Several weeks later, Susan and Renée reprise their acclaimed pairing as Octavian and the Marschallin in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, presented in concert to open the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s  2016-17 season. Andris Nelsons conducts a cast that also includes Erin Morley as Sophie, Franz Hawlata as Baron Ochs, and Steven Costello as the Italian Singer. Watch a video excerpt here of Susan and Renée’s performance in Der Rosenkavalier at the Metropolitan Opera, described by the Associated Press as “some rare alignment of planets.” Find more information here about Der Rosenkavalier at Boston Symphony Hall on October 1.
